Stacey Van Scoyoc, DDS of Bloomington ascended to the position of President of the Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS) in September at their Annual Session, September 10-11 in Oak Brook, Illinois. Her term will be for the 2021-2022 year.

Dr. Van Scoyoc attended the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, earning a B.S. in Biology in 1990. She attended the University of Illinois College of Dentistry and earned her DDS in 1995. In June of 2007, she also attained her Certificate in Small Business Management from Illinois State University.
Dr. Van Scoyoc has held many leadership roles within the ISDS, including serving as the Central District Trustee from 2014 to 2017, a Delegate or Alternate to the ISDS House of Delegates, an ISDS Spokesperson and the Chair of the Committee on Dental Education. She also served as the Board Laison to the Governmental Affairs, New Dentist and Allied Dental Committees. At the American Dental Association, she has served as a Delegate or Alternate for the past 10 years and was the Chair of the Council on Dental Practice from 2018-2019.
As a member of the McLean County Dental Society (MCDS), Dr. Van Scoyoc served as President from 2009-2010. She has also served as their Dent-IL-PAC Director, on their Dental Public Relations Committee and as their Recruitment and Retention Chair. In 2000 and 2005 she received their President’s Award.
Her professional affiliations include the following: the American Dental Association (ADA), ISDS, MCDS, the Chicago Dental Society and the American Association of Women Dentists. Dr. Van Scoyoc has been honored as a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. The University of Illinois College of Dentistry Alumnae Association gave her the Dr. F. William Towner Organized Dentistry Activity Award in 2019.
In addition, Dr. Van Scoyoc is involved in many civic activities, including volunteering for the McLean County Health Department, the ICC Hygiene Program at the Community Health Care Clinic, a past Board member for the Peoria Improve Care Now/Parent Advisory Council and the McLean County Unit 5 Educational Foundation Board. She and her husband, John, own Bloomington Family Dental and serve Bloomington and the surrounding areas. They enjoy keeping up with their three boys, traveling, surfing, sailing, reading and watching movies.
