The Illinois State Dental Society is pleased to welcome Claire Griffith of Chatham to the staff as Membership Manager.  Claire is an accomplished nonprofit professional with ten years’ experience in management, fundraising and development.  She considers her strengths to be in developing community involvement, communicating a mission, overseeing donor relations, creative strategic planning, and managing volunteers and committees.

Claire holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Illinois College; Masters of Nonprofit Administration from North Park University; and a Certificate in Fundraising Management from North Park University.  She also is a Certified Nonprofit Professional of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance.

Claire comes to ISDS from her role as Assistant Director at Kidzeum of Health and Science in Springfield. There she managed and oversaw all museum operations and staff; developed and maintained the museum’s membership programs; developed all staff and museum policies and procedures; created an original database and oversaw all constituent entries and operations; managed the museum’s volunteer program and volunteers; assisted with monthly financial reporting, budgeting and annual audit procedures; coordinated with marketing to ensure consistency in the museum’s branding and messaging; and participated in strategy meetings to guide the business model for the museum.

Prior to Kidzeum, Claire was Individual Giving Manager at Glenwood Academy for underserved students in the Chicago area.  She helped create an annual fund to target new individual donors, grow revenue, and develop and manage donor solicitation, cultivation and stewardship marketing, resulting in raising over $2 million through individual and major donors the first year.  Claire served as staff liaison to the Associate Board, making her an active part of the educational and residential programming for students and event planning for students and volunteers.

As Midwest Regional Development Manager at FARE (Food Allergy, Research & Education), Claire coordinated and managed 5K walks in three states, secured sponsors for all events, cultivated major donors, and managed four volunteer committees across the Midwest.  She was selected to participate in the strategic planning and development of a new Community Engagement program.  Claire also brings association experience to ISDS from her position as Associate Manager, Fundraising and Administration, at the American Diabetes Association in Chicago.

Originally from the Chicago area, Claire lives in Chatham with her husband, Donovan; her two boys, Oliver (4), and Finn (1); and their beloved rescue dog, Leo. In their free time, the family enjoys taking short weekend trips and playing with the boys with whatever is their current obsession: monster trucks, Paw Patrol, soccer, etc. “They're pretty active and keep us on our toes!” she says with a big smile.
