You may want to consider starting an In-Office Membership Plan in order to gain additional patients into your practice.
The COVID-19 crisis has had a major impact on our economy and on many dental practices. ADA data shows that a majority are operating at less than full pre-Covid patient capacity. You may want to consider starting an In-Office Membership Plan in order to gain additional patients into your practice.
The In-Office Membership Care Act, now allows practices to provide their uninsured patients an option for making regular dental care more affordable, and budgetable.
Uninsured patients benefit from the plans in a couple of different ways. Dental practices may offer a slight decrease in fees for preventive treatment when a patient commits to two visits each year. More significant savings will come when restorative services are needed, which may be discounted from 10% to 20%. By paying for the services up front or in monthly installments, a patient is also more likely to seek routine dental care, reducing the possibility of more serious, and more expensive, problems down the road.
Attached are the statutory requirements for the Illinois In-Office Membership Care Act. A toolkit about in-office plans is available on the ADA’s website. There are also industry consultants that offer assistance with creating, implementing and marketing the plans.
