Legislative Advocacy

Legislative advocacy consists of representing dentistry before the Illinois legislature and presenting our views on issues that impact the dental profession. Other areas of advocacy consist of regulatory issues that come before state agencies such as the Department of Professional Regulation, Nuclear Safety, Public Health, and Public Aid.

The Illinois State Dental Society cooperates actively with the American Dental Association in influencing our representatives and senators in the U.S. Congress on issues of importance to the ADA and dentistry. Such areas include laws and regulations related to the Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Environmental Protection Agency, and the like.
