Relief and Disaster Assistance
One extremely important membership benefit is a confidential financial assistance
program to dentists suffering from financial hardship or natural disaster.
Operated in conjunction with the ADA Relief Fund and administered by the ISDS
Foundation, disabled dentists and their families may be assisted through this
program, as well as spouses and dependents of deceased dentists.
The primary purpose of the ADA Relief Fund is to provide aid of an emergency
and temporary nature to dentists and, when circumstances demonstrate unusual
need, to dependents of dentists. Relief grants are discretionary and are awarded
by the ADA/ISDS Foundation for meeting emergency needs and daily living expenses
rather than for pensions, annuities, etc. The awarding of a grant is not deemed
to be a right or an entitlement to the applicant.
The amount of any grant is determined by the ADA Charitable Assistance Program
committee after recommendation by the component society and the Foundation’s
Relief Committee. Contact Lisa
Fowler for more information.
