Regional Dental Testing Boards


NERB
The North East Regional Board of Dental Examiners was founded in 1969 to facilitate the licensure process for candidates and eliminate the need for repetition of state board clinical examinations. The NERB is comprised of 16 state dental boards in the states of Connecticut, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and West Virginia.

CRDTS
The Central Regional Dental Testing Service (CRDTS) is a testing service made up of 15 State Boards of Dentistry that have joined forces to develop and administer fair, valid and reliable examinations of competency to practice dentistry and dental hygiene. The members of CRDTS are the state boards of Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, South Carolina, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. CRDTS began in the late 1960's.

SRTA
The Southern Regional Testing Agency (SRTA) is a testing agency comprised of the following member State Boards of Dentistry: Arkansas, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. SRTA candidate's scoring record is automatically sent to those State Boards.

WREB
In June 1977, the first exam was given under the auspices of the Western Regional Examining Board (WREB) in Oregon. The following State Boards of Dentistry are members of WREB: Alaska, Arizona, California (dental only) Idaho, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

CITA
The Council of Interstate Testing Agencies, Inc. was founded in 2005 as a collaborative effort to provide clinical dental and dental hygiene licensure examination administrative services. Participating states in CITA include Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina and the territory of Puerto Rico.
